Unit, according to acting Essex County Prosecutor Robert Laurino.
Johnson was one of 24 defendants arrested during an investigation into a faction of the Bloods street gang between August 2008 and January 2009. An undercover detective managed to infiltrate a Bloods-run cocaine and heroin ring, Laurino said, and purchased both drugs from Johnson several times during the investigation.
Johnson pleaded guilty to drug distribution and narcotics charges earlier this year. He was arrested in January 2009."
