Texas leader of the Latin Kings, Jose Nava, was a Lubbock resident, official records have said.

Eight members of the Latin Kings street gang has been sentenced recently in Lubbock federal court. The gang has been tied to a 2008 drive by shooting in Big Spring that killed two adults and one unborn child. An FBI dive team found parts of an AK-47 in White River just east of Crosbyton. The Texas leader of the Latin Kings, Jose Nava, was a Lubbock resident, official records have said. There were 17 defendants in the Lubbock case. These eight were sentenced last week on drug-related charges:

•Reynaldo Nava, 121 months
•Carol Ann Rivas Nava, 37 months
•Cecily Dominique Juarez, 46 months
•Robert Allen Ramirez, 235 months
•Jesus Martinez, 121 months
•Eduardo Daniel Mares, 235 months
•Gabriel Lee Gonzales, 188 months
•John Guzman, 210 months
