14 charged in drug, gun trafficking bust in SB Co - San Jose Mercury News: "Charges have been filed against 14 people who were arrested last week as part of a major drug trafficking and weapons dealing bust involving street gangs in Santa Barbara County.
County prosecutors said Monday that 16 more suspects are expected to be charged on Tuesday.
The investigation started last year when Santa Maria police narcotics detectives linked several methamphetamine dealing arrests in which the suspects had handguns.
Law enforcement officers seized marijuana, meth, cocaine, $74,000 in cash, 23 firearms and four pipe bombs over two days last week in Santa Maria and Nipomo (nih-POH'-moh).
Santa Maria police Lt. Dan Ast (ahst) says 35 people, mostly members of the West Park street gang, were arrested Thursday and Friday."
