Dutch police say they have likely prevented a gangland execution by arresting six British men earlier this month.
Officers say they acted on a tip from British authorities to arrest the men, who are believed to be involved in a deadly war between two rival gangs from Liverpool.
The men, whose ages range from 37 to 65, were not identified. They were arrested in a series of operations in Amsterdam on June 10, police said in a statement. They were found carrying three automatic rifles, a revolver, a pistol, and a large amount of ammunition.
Two of the men remain under Dutch arrest.
