Reno teen sentenced to 12 to life in gang slaying - KTVN Channel 2 - Reno Tahoe News Weather, Video -: "17-year-old from Reno was has been sentenced to 12 years to life in Nevada prison for a drive-by gang slaying that authorities say he committed last August with his older brother at the wheel.
Antonio Cardenas apologized Monday to the family of 16-year-old Michael Vega, the teen killed when Cardenas opened the sliding door of a van and opened fire with an assault rifle into a group of rival gang members in a McDonald's restaurant parking lot.
Cardenas said he didn't know Vega, and only meant to scare the group."
