Berwyn, Cicero men among arrested in “Operation Shady Business” - Berkeley, IL - Berkeley Suburban Life: "Federal authorities arrested three area men Wednesday following a 15-month investigation into the “2-6 Nation” street gang.
Jason Herrera, also known as “J,” 29, of Berwyn and Andrew Vela, also known as “Drew,” 29, of Berwyn and Newark, were charged with manufacturing more than 100 marijuana plants over the summer.
Francisco Montemayor, also known as “Kiko,” 29, of Cicero was charged with possession with intent to distribute more than 500 grams of cocaine.
The investigation, called “Operation Shady Business,” resulted in the arrest 22 defendants yesterday on federal or state charges.
Federal search warrants were executed at four locations, including defendants’ residences in Berwyn and Chicago.
Yesterday police told the Berwyn Life that the federal authorities served search warrants at two Berwyn homes on the 3200 block of South Harvey Avenue early Wednesday morning."
