Gang dispute appears to have sparked the shooting Sunday in Lancaster that killed a 14-year-old girl and left six others injured, Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials said Monday.
Homicide Bureau Lt. Pat Nelson said investigators are “confident” that the shooting was gang-related, but declined to identify the gangs. There had been no arrests made by Monday evening.
Dominique Peatry, 14, was identified as the girl who was killed when gunmen began shooting early Sunday morning at a party in the 44600 block of 6th Street East. The other shooting victims, who range in age from 13 to 26, have not been identified. They are all expected to survive, Nelson said.
