Reno man to face trial in gang-motivated killing of 17-year-old | rgj.com | The Reno Gazette-Journal: "Juan Carlos “Charlie” Sanchez was bound over for trial after Reno Justice of the Peace Scott Pearson heard testimony from witnesses regarding the May 7 fatal stabbing of Andrew Palmer of Reno.
Authorities said the motive for the killing was the belief that Palmer had been disrespecting a gang that Sanchez befriended.
Reno police found Palmer wounded on the sidewalk in the 2000 block of Carville Street. The boy had been stabbed in the chest, stomach and back after he had been attacked while walking down the street.
Palmer’s alleged disrespect included supposedly giving dirty looks or hard stares toward a home where several of Sanchez’s gang member friends lived, and for not answering the gang’s questions when they approached him in a vehicle.
Testimony revealed that Sanchez told people he stabbed the boy."
