Gang member sentenced for torturing teen in W-B - Citizens Voice: "member of the Long Island Boys gang was sentenced to 3½ to seven years for selling heroin in Wilkes-Barre and participating in the torture of a 15-year-old.

Rufus Evans received the sentence today from Luzerne County Judge Tina Polachek Garley, who called the attack on the 15-year-old horrific.

The boy was found in a bathtub at 131 N. Meade St. on Aug. 9, 2008, with burns, bruises and cuts on his face and upper body.

He told police he had liquids poured on him, was kicked in the head and torso, cut and burned with butcher knives that had been held over an open flame, according to an affidavit.

The boy said he had been kept in the house at gunpoint and threatened with death by men who demanded he return money in a safe they accused him of taking."
