Arrests in Muskogee mall death don’t allay gang fears | NewsOK.com: "Police believe Saturday’s killing of 17-year-old Jarrod Reed and wounding of five others in the downtown Arrowhead Mall was gang-related. Reed’s family rejects that idea, and Muskogee schools spokeswoman Melony Carey refused to label the shooting as gang-related.
'People keep blaming it on gangs,” she said. 'There is an enmity between a couple of groups; it’s in the community.”
Arrested Monday were Michael Mayberry, 16; Anton Nelson, 17; and Daniel Anderson 20.
Mayberry was arrested on a first-degree murder complaint and five counts of shooting with intent to kill. He also was arrested on an outstanding warrant in connection with an April 3 drive-by shooting in which two teens were wounded. Anderson also was arrested in connection with that shooting."
