Neighborhood in Fresno stunned by shooting - Central Valley - MercedSun-Star.com: "mother of a man gunned down in Old Fig Garden late Wednesday afternoon wept at the shooting scene Thursday morning and a woman who lives in the quiet, upscale neighborhood said she was shaken by the violence.
Phelan Evans, 27, of Fresno was identified by the Fresno County Coroner's Office as the man shot near where Wishon Avenue crosses an irrigation canal.
It's a neighborhood on the south side of Old Fig, tucked far away from traffic. Dakota Avenue dead-ends into the canal a block east."
