Hells Angels biker went on trial in Germany on Tuesday for the alleged murder of a police commando in March.
The trial, in the western city of Koblenz, attended by several other members of the gang, opened under heavy security.
Prosecutors have accused the 44-year-old defendant, identified only as Karl-Heinz B., of firing two shots without warning at the officer through a door as he prepared to raid his home.
"Both shots penetrated the door. One hit the police officer in the upper body and affected several organs. In spite of immediate medical attention, the 42-year-old bled to death," according to the charge sheet.
