ESCONDIDO: Three held in stabbing: "Escondido man is in stable condition after being stabbed about 10 times in a suspected gang-related attack, while three Vista teenagers are in custody and facing attempted murder charges, an Escondido police lieutenant said Tuesday.
About 12:30 a.m. Monday, Jose Solis, 20, was on a bicycle in the area of Lincoln Avenue and Gamble Street when three people pulled up in a car and got out, Lt. Craig Carter said.
At some point, someone in the group stabbed Solis. The victim fell off his bike, and was stabbed while on the ground, Carter said.
Suffering from about 10 wounds, the victim ran to a friend's house, and the friend took him to the hospital, Carter said.
About 15 minutes later, before police knew about the attack, an officer stopped a car with illegal modifications near Lincoln Avenue and Fig Street, Carter said. Three teenagers in the car were arrested for probation violations, Carter said."
