Someone sprayed the home of a known gang member with gunfire late Wednesday, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
No one was hurt, but deputies did recover several 9mm casings and projectiles from inside and outside of the gang member’s residence in the 5600 block of 12th Street East. A deputy, who heard the gunfire while standing in front of a nearby sheriff’s substation, reported hearing about 15 gunshots, according to a news release.
While the gang member’s residence appears to have been the apparent target, investigators also determined that a second residence to the south and east, in the 1200 block of 57th Avenue East, was also struck by gunfire, according to the sheriff’s office.
No one reported seeing any suspects or vehicles that may have been connected with the shooting, according to the sheriff’s office.
