Mob Arrests in NYC: Mafia Bust Includes Gambino... | Gather: "The mob arrests in NYC include the Gambino Family and Mexican cartels. Charges range from gambling and racketeering, to violent crimes and murder according to the attorney general.

In a concerted effort between law enforcement agencies in NYC, Rhode Island, and New Jersey, over 847 officers arrested over 100 mobsters among the largest five families in organized crime syndication.

The unsealed indictments of the mob arrests point to La Cosa Nostra, as one of the most influential groups to cast a dark shadow on the history of organized crimes.

Among those arrested are high-ranking members of the Columbo and Gambino families. Some of the crimes date back 30 years among rival crime bosses and lieutenants.

Members of the local Columbo and Genovese families are part of separate indictments that include labor racketeering and other corrupt practices among unions. The violent families in today's mob arrests are only a tiny portion of what law enforcement agencies report are the tip of the iceberg.

This massive joint effort underscores the importance of how the mob's resurgence is even more powerful than in recent decades."
