The Eastsider LA: East Hollywood gang suspected of Silver Lake robberies

08:52 |

The Eastsider LA: East Hollywood gang suspected of Silver Lake robberies: "Members of the La Mirada Locos are believed responsible for a trio of Silver Lake street robberies, including a man who was mugged during an afternoon walk near the Silver Lake Reservoir, police said. Also, police issued a separate community alert warning residents of Silver Lake, Franklin Hills and Los Feliz of a string of 'hot prowl' burglaries in which residents were at home during the break ins. A total of 10 burglaries (it's not clear if all of them were hot prowl incidents) were reported between Silver Lake Boulevard and the Franklin Hills during April 14-18, according to the LAPD Crime Map. Lt. Steven Flores with the Northeast Division said there is no connection between the burglaries and the robberies believed committed by the La Mirada Locos. 'We don't normally have gang members involved in burglaries, he said."
