Mother Of Man Killed In Gang Related Shooting Speaks Out - News Story - KRCR Redding: "Butte County family struggles to cope after a gang shooting took the life of 23-year old Randy Brass Jr. last Wednesday.
He was shot in the street after a party at a Chico house on the 300 block of Normal Avenue on January 22nd.
Chico police say Brass and a teenager got into a fight outside the house and shots were fired. Brass managed to get a cab and took it to the hospital where he died four days later.
Police say the injured teen is a member of a gang and there are conflicting reports that Brass also had gang connections. But Tuesday, investigators said Brass was not affiliated with a gang.
Brass’s family says reports of gang activity are wrong.
“He’s not in a gang,” said his mother Dena Brass. “Our family is not gang related.”"
