Live Oak man gets 58 years in prison for 2008 gang slaying - San Jose Mercury News: "Oscar Jaquez of Live Oak was 16 when he was arrested and charged with shooting Servando Silonsochilt Jr., 27, three times with a .38-caliber revolver on 17th Avenue near Harper Street around dusk on Jan. 29, 2008.
Silonsochilt, a parolee with gang ties, was riding a bicycle south on 17th Avenue when Jaquez approached him and the two exchanged words. Then Jaquez pulled the fully-loaded revolver from the waistband of his pants and emptied the weapon. Silonsochilt was fatally wounded. He stumbled away and flagged down a passing sport utility vehicle. The woman driving it took Silonsochilt up the road, but pulled over in a parking lot because was so badly wounded.
Silonsochilt was taken to Dominican Hospital, where he died the following day.
Jaquez and another gang member, who had together accosted a different man at a nearby gas station moments before Silonsochilt was shot, were arrested in the neighborhood a short time later. Jaquez still had the gun with him, according to the D.A.'s Office."
