Suspect in shooting has history of arrests - El Paso Times: "Gang Investigations Unit alleges Julio Cesar Mendoza, 27, shot two men outside the XO Club & Sports Bar, at 7026 Alameda, at about 2 a.m. Friday.
Mendoza shot the two men, ages 26 and 31, after they got into a fight, police said. He allegedly shot one man twice in the stomach, injuring the man's colon, liver and small intestine, according to a police affidavit.
Mendoza shot at the other man several times as he was trying to help his injured friend, the affidavit said.
One bullet struck the second man on the right side of his neck, another struck his right shoulder and two other bullets grazed the man's right shoulder blade and the back of his neck, the police affidavit said.
Both men were taken to University Medical Center. Their conditions are not known. Police have not released the names of the men.
The shooting is believed to be gang-related, police said."
