Gangster connected to killing of Burnaby man

15:38 |

Gangster connected to killing of Burnaby man: "California police investigators are saying Hooites-Meursing was an associate of Burnaby native Joe Bralic, who was found shot to death in a Fullerton, California parking lot on July 5, 2001.is a person of interest but he is not a suspect in the actual murder as far as being primarily involved with doing it,' Fullerton police homicide Sgt. Mike Chlebowski told The Province Thursday. 'He is a person of interest in the case in his relationship to Bralic and his contacts down here.'
Chlebowski said the Bralic death is an 'active case, and we do have some active leads that we are following up on right now.'
Police believe the popular bodybuilder was killed elsewhere and his body dumped in the Discount Tire store parking lot in broad daylight after a marijuana-for-cocaine deal with American or Mexican drug dealers went awry.
Chlebowski believes Hooites-Meursing, who was born in Canada but grew up in Long Beach, California before being deported back to B.C. in 1994, provided Bralic with his ill-fated 'contacts and connections' in Southern California.
Hooites-Meursing has also revealed that he will testify against four suspects in the upcoming Surrey Six murder trial."
