May 12 - Jamaican "Shower Posse" President swept up in Toronto Gang Raids: "the Shower Posse supplied cocaine and marijuana to two rival west end Toronto gangs, the Falstaff Crips and the Five Point Generalz (5PG) and others across Ontario.The Shower Posse is strikingly different than the usual, turf-based gangs, because it wholesales drugs and guns to warring gangs across the GTA and has no boundaries, police say.The Jamaican-based gang, spawned in the 1970s political violence in the island’s capital of Kingston, also has links to major U.S. cities and Europe.Last week Project Corral, a police bust targeting the Toronto branch of the Shower Posse, snared 82 people including Courtney “Showerman” Ottey, allegedly the undisputed leader of the local gang.
Known in gangland circles as “President”, “Boss” and “Crime Boss”, he appears to answer to no one.
Ottey, 42, allegedly has “clear control of Shower Posse and 5PG, with Neigabe Stewart working as his second-in-command while he is under house arrest,” the documents say.Gang-related charges are nothing new to Ottey, Nadel “Beans” Johnson and Ariyo “Butter” Fakomi."
