About 1:50 p.m., a 17-year-old boy was riding with a friend in a vehicle in the 7900 block of South Western Avenue when a gray Chevrolet Cavalier pulled alongside them in traffic, shouted gang slogans and fired a handgun into their vehicle, according to a release from police News Affairs.
The teen suffered a gunshot wound to his lower right leg and his friend drove him to Little Company of Mary Hospital and Health Care Centers in Evergreen Park, the release said."
