Christopher Coke Reportedly Negotiating Surrender To US Authorities – IndyPosted: "Christopher Coke is negotiating with American authorities to surrender in New York and may well be in custody by the end of the Memorial Day weekend. It is reported that coke managed to escape the besieged Tivoli Gardens section of Kingston, Jamaica and to flee the Carribean island nation. Coke has a reputation that ranges from that of a bloodthirsty killer and ruthless gangster to a patron of the poor and caring community leader. The term “Shower Posse” refers to the hail of gunfire with which the gang often kills its adversaries. Many of Coke’s defenders had received money and food to supplement meager incomes in a country that has almost no social welfare safety net. On the other hand, Jamaican women who were visiting the US were sometimes forced to smuggle drugs in body cavities. CNN reports as follows how Coke’s gang reportedly recruited drug mules."

Canadian Immigration Report: Black Dodge van linked to Ducarme Joseph case: "Two slain in clothing boutique. Police scour Pointe aux Trembles for leads on possible getaway vehicle The investigation into a double slaying carried out inside a clothing boutique in Old Montreal in March brought homicide investigators to a condominium building in Pointe aux Trembles yesterday as police released new information in the case.
About 20 members of the Montreal police conducted a door-to-door campaign early yesterday at an intersection near the eastern tip of the Montreal Island. The site was about 20 kilometres east of where two men were killed, and another two were injured, in a shooting March 18 inside the Flawnego clothing boutique on St. Jacques St. W.
The boutique is owned by Ducarme Joseph, 42, a former street gang leader who is believed to have been the intended target in the shooting.
Joseph is thought to have been inside the boutique at the time but slipped away unharmed.
Several police sources have said a path they are pursuing is that the March 18 shooting is tied to the December slaying of Nicolo (Nick) Rizzuto Jr., the son of reputed Mob boss Vito Rizzuto."

In addition to an attempted murder charge, Falcon-Lopez faces weapons-related charges. He was held at the Bergen County Jail on $50,000 bail as of Saturday night, according to jail records. N.J. wiretaps detail alliance of mobsters and Bloods | Philadelphia Inquirer | 05/30/2010: "one end of the line was a reputed soldier with the Lucchese crime family. On the other was a ranking member of a North Jersey faction of the Bloods, one of the country's most violent street gangs. The two men were talking business. And state investigators were listening. The wiretapped conversation from July 2007 is one of hundreds that are part of a racketeering indictment charging 34 reputed underworld figures. More important, it offers a look at what one top New Jersey law enforcement figure has described as a 'troubling alliance' - wiseguys and Bloods, outlaws from two different cultures and underworlds coming together to make things happen."

'They just want to retaliate.'"

Montreal Mafia figure, Moreno Gallo to appeal deportation: "Moreno Gallo, 64, who is out on day parole, showed up for a hearing before the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB) at Complexe Guy Favreau Thursday morning for what essentially turned out to be a formality. Because of a series of admissions agreed to in the case, IRB member Dianne Tordorf ruled that Gallo can be deported, as Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has been seeking to do since February 2008. According to a document filed in Gallo's case, CBSA realized only in 2008 that he was a permanent resident and never became a Canadian citizen, despite having arrived in this country at age 8, on May 6, 1954, with his mother and sister. His father had been residing in Canada for two years at that point. Gallo left school with a Grade 9 education and, at the age of 16, started working at the same flooring company where his father worked. He also worked for Kraft Foods before opening a bakery 35 years ago in Little Italy with his father-in-law. The popular bakery, Mottas, on Mozart St. E. is still run by Gallo's wife. But it was what Gallo did as a sideline to the bakery that now finds him closer to being deported to Italy, where, he claims, he has no close relatives. In 1973, Gallo and an accomplice were arrested in the murder of a drug dealer who was considered to be a rival of the Cotroni"
He survives war, but is shot in his front yard | gang, escobar, arroyo - News - The Orange County Register: "He never saw the gunman. He never heard the gun. He and his family were innocent bystanders, completely unaware that there was a gang retaliation shooting under way. “But I knew what that sound was because I’ve heard it before,” Escobar testified last week. “Everyone went down to the ground.” He said at first, he thought they had all escaped injury. But seconds later, “I felt something on my face.” As the gang members piled into a Nissan Altima and sped away from his normally quiet neighborhood, Escobar looked into the rear-view mirror of another sister’s Toyota parked in their driveway on Lorna Street. He saw blood. One of the bullets had struck him in the face near his nose, and had exited out his left cheek: two inches over and the bullet would have slammed into his temple. He was lucky to be alive. Escobar, now 28, had spent nine months in Iraq in combat without getting a scratch, only to get shot in the face during one afternoon in his front yard in Orange County. Garden Grove police later arrested two reputed male members of the Darkside street gang. Prosecutors charged them with attempted murder, conspiracy and gang charges. Deputy District Attorney Paul Chrisopoulos contended during a trial that gang members Adrian Arroyo, now 20, and Oscar Torres, now 21, drove into Escobar’s neighborhood about 6 p.m. on May 11, 2007 seeking to retaliate against rivals from the 18th Street gang for an incident earlier in the day. Several 18th Street gang members had allegedly confronted Arroyo in their territory that morning, had threatened him and chased him away, the prosecutor contended. Arroyo returned hours later
Lake Calhoun shooting was gang-related, police say | Street Gangs Resource Center – Los Angeles and California | The Gang Experts | Crips | Bloods | Mara Salvatrucha | 18th Street: "Minneapolis police say a gang feud led to the killing of a man near Lake Calhoun earlier this week. And they say an uptick in gang activity has led to more shootings and killings in the city than last year. Derrick Gregory Martin, 20, of Brooklyn Park, was shot to death Monday night on the walking bath around the lake. Inspector Mike Martin, commander of the 4th Precinct in north Minneapolis, says the increase in gang activity is due in part to a volatile mix of gang members on the streets. “Some career offenders, even young people who’ve been in prison or juvenile detention facilities, are getting back out and who are acting on revenge and retaliation for incidents that have occurred in the past,” said Martin. Martin says the gangs involved in the shooting this week are active on the north side. He says officers are trying to find out who’s responsible and deter any more retaliatory violence."
The Associated Press: Argentina: Colombian model arrested on drug charge: "Colombian model accused of leading a drug-trafficking gang that persuaded pretty young women to smuggle cocaine to Mexico was arrested Wednesday after evading Argentine police for five months. Angie Sanclemente Valencia had been hiding out in Buenos Aires since December, when airport police caught a 21-year-old Argentine woman with 55 kilograms (121 pounds) of cocaine in her baggage boarding a flight to Cancun. That led to arrests of six other alleged gang members who allegedly fingered Colombia's former 'coffee queen' as a ringleader. Argentina's media quickly dubbed Sanclemente the 'Narco Queen,' but two officials involved in the case told The Associated Press that her specific role in the smuggling organization has not been established. 'When they organized the trafficking of cocaine to Mexico, she participated in the meetings,' said one of the sources, both of whom agreed to discuss the case on condition they not be identified because the investigation was still open. Police were able to determine Sanclemente's identity because she had made quite an impression upon her arrival in Argentina, flying first class with a Pomeranian dog, the other official said."

Gangs have amassed weapons and erected street barricades in the Jamaican capital to protest the extradition of a reputed gang leader, police said, as the United States warned travelers of possible civil unrest. Kingston police Friday called on residents of Tivoli Gardens and Denham Town to dismantle the barricades they erected during a massive demonstration Thursday in support of Christopher "Dudus" Coke.
